Who said celebrating the Fourth of July means covering yourself head to toe in stars and stripes?  We may not want to look like an American flag this weekend, but identifying the perfect outfit can be a challenge.  We have you covered for your favorite way to celebrate — think beach, barbeques, watching fireworks — in patriotic reds, whites, and blues!

For the Country/Golf/Tennis Club

Going to the club for the Fourth of July is a combination of having a great dinner, enjoying fabulous cocktails, and watching the fireworks.  With such a variety of activities, finding the right mix between casual and dressy is key!

Want to look both stunning and festive?  Pair the BCBG red berry dress with a teal necklace (we love the red + teal color combo this year!) to show off your patriotic spirit!

Nothing says striking like a white off-the-shoulder romper.  Just make sure to put a blanket down if you will be sitting on the grass!

For an Outdoor Barbeque

Most of us are sure to have at least one barbeque this weekend (if the weather cooperates!).

We love this easy yet ornate embroidered shift dress.  If you will be in the sun for many hours, either load up on the sunscreen (see Elizabeth’s pro sunscreen tips here), or bring a hat!

These pants are nothing short of amazing!  They are a flattering cropped length, have a dainty fringe detail on the cuffs, and are unbelievably comfortable!  The subtle hint of red, white, and blue in this Joie top is perfect for the holiday.

For the Beach or the Lake

Cotton sundresses epitomize summer, and where better to pack your sundresses than the beach or lake!  Want to be extra patriotic?  Substitute the blue jewels shown here with a pop of red!

Protect yourself from the elements (and look stylish) with a hat!  More to come on our amazing selection of hats next week…

For Fireworks on the National Mall

If you have never been to fireworks on the National Mall, it’s an amazing event that everyone living in the DMV should experience at least once.  With that said, getting to the Mall in July means lots of walking and being hot, muggy!

A pair of comfortable shorts, like these navy and white shorts from Three Dot, paired with a cotton Michael Stars tank, are just what you need to look fashionable yet keep cool.

Nothing is worse than hair that has been overcome by humidity!  Circumvent that, and look festive, with this stitched Smathers & Branson hat.

This Chan Luu tank top is light and airy, perfect for keeping dry in July!  Looking for a comfortable pair of sandals to walk the mall?  The Capri sandal by Jack Rogers has the classic Jack Rogers design, with a cushioned sole and a micro-wedge, perfect for being on your feet!

We hope you all have a happy and safe Independence Day!
