I am sure all of you are sitting at your computer, drinking your morning coffee, wondering why in the world I am writing about how a classic white shirt is our trend to try for the week.  I promise you I am not losing my mind (at least in this respect I am not!).  The classic white shirt – with a twist – has been all over runways this spring, and we want to help you rethink this crisp staple that we all love!

Why we love it:
The real question is why wouldn’t we love the classic white shirt?  It is SO easy to look effortless with either skinny jeans or your favorite summer shorts and simple jewelry.  My favorite part about this trend is that we have so many more options on how to wear the classic white shirt – add some embroidery, take off the sleeves, turn it into a tunic…you name it, you can do it!

How to pull it off:
There are an infinite number of ways this trend works.  Since it is that versatile, I will let the pictures do the talking:

Paired with Paige Jeans and Johnston & Murphy suede wedges.

Paired with Amy Matto pants and Sacha London black suede sling-back pumps.

This Finley Walter Tie Shirt takes the guidance of “adding a twist” to the white shirt quite literally.  Finley was originally made for women with larger chests, so this top is a great option for those of you fuller on top.

Paired with Paige dark skinny jeans, Suzy T bracelet, and Ann Marino snakeskin heels.

Paired with Amy Matto shorts, Suzy T bracelet, and Joie espadrilles.

Achieve an effortless look with the BCBG Valeri Ruffle Sleeve Top.  We especially love the structure and weight of the fabric, and the beautiful detail in the ruffle sleeves!

Paired with Paige jeans, fun tassel necklace, and Jack Roger wedges.

Paired with Chan Luu skirt and Jack Roger sandals.

I have a plain white t-shirt that I desperately try to wear more often than I actually should.  This Chan Luu is going to be my replacement.  When I first saw it I thought of a mullet…business in the front, party in the back!

Paired with Three Dots shorts and Joie espadrilles.

Paired with Gretchen Scott black pants, Tamaris wedges.

Another beautiful shirt that seems like a plain white V-neck, but with a closer look the amazing embroidery detail will jump out on this Johnny Was top.  A major plus: You will be SUPER comfortable in this shirt!
